Quill - OPEN
Jul. 24th, 2015 03:28 pmWell, it's official. Sophie is a true citizen of Siren Cove as she waits in the long line at the apparently popular Quill. It's actually her first time in the coffee shop since arriving in town almost two weeks ago. It feels almost like the first time she's been outside, really.
Phone calls, emails, meetings, dog walking, schedules, invitation making, press releases, picking up dry cleaning, digging up old property lines to settle a dispute between old Covian families...she's been busy since day one as the mayor's personal assistant. And now she's waiting with the masses to get the man his dumb, special coffee.
Sophie busies herself in the line by tapping away on her tablet and checking a few emails. She surveyed the place as soon as she walked in. Several older couples out for a brunch date in the south end of the cafe. Teens enjoying the dwindling days of their summer break by sitting outside on the patio. A man and his service dog are tucked away in a corner. Everyone else seems to be in line at this moment, leaving the cafe once they have their drink.
She's hyper aware, the agency made sure of that. So Sophie knows exactly the distance between herself and the person ahead in line. Maybe motivatd by boredom, she steps forward, bumping into the person and dropping her tablet. Gotta start meeting people some how, right?
"Oh! Damn it. I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going," she says with an apologetic smile, swooping down to pick up her tablet. "Let me buy your drink?"
